~ Murals & Stencils ~
Stencils can be used as decorative borders, all over patterns, and even as murals. The possibilities are endless, and some stencils can actually be applied with plaster type finishes adding three dimensional relief to the mix, just as this three dimensionality can also be achieved using paint or glaze alone. The shading on the featured stencil adds dimension to an otherwise "flat" image, making
the motif "come to life."
This screen partitions a large Manhattan living room and was designed and painted in our studio.

It is all stencil work in tinted metallic paints.
Some fifteen different stencil plates were meticulously cut out and prepared in our studio to complete this commissioned Japanese inspired screen design.

Below, a dresser and night table which we distressed to render an aged look, and for which we designed and stenciled a floral and ornamental framing.
